R&R for Buffalo, Bites, and Beverages Bike Tour - Columbus to Galloway, OH

Image
Of course there aren't any buffalo in Ohio - but there are bison! Bring a camera and let's see if we can get any to pose for a CycleNuts tour picture. This is a 25 mile tour with a nice trail-side refreshment stop midway. Route is 74% bikeway (a mix of paved and crushed stone) with CycleNuts 50% downhill guarantee. Expect touring time allowed for Battelle Darby Creek Nature Center and buffalo viewing. Points of interest: Camp Chase Trail/Ohio-to-Erie Trail, Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park and Nature Center, Darby Dan Farm's practice race track, Big Run Metro Park ("one of the largest parks" in the Cbus metro park system and "home to one of the few non-roadway [soap box] derby hills in the country", and Darby Creek Trail.

The tastiest tour you ever experienced with CycleNuts...

Day Tour on Cleveland's Lakefront Bikeway

Image
A year ago, it seemed like a great idea to repeat this tour. Six months ago, it seemed like the forecast for the date picked looked great. The day of the tour confirmed what a great idea it was, indeed! Perfect weather, a beautiful bunch of CycleNuts, Cleveland's Lakefront festive and inviting, and a delicious midway stop at Whiskey Island Still & Eatery makes repeating this tour again in 2020 another great idea! The three Cleveland script signs - Edgewater Park, downtown Cleveland, and Euclid Beach Park - as destinations provide an interesting perspective of Cleveland's Lakefront. And, they make great photo opportunities, which we took good advantage of, along with the Historic Cleveland Coastguard Station off Wendy Park on Whiskey Island. Fun tour - hope to see you all there next year! Tour data: Total distance - 36 miles Maximum speed - 23.1 MPH Average speed 8.4 MPH Saddle time - 4 hours 15 minutes Total tour time - 7 hours 30 minutes
